(snowpocalypse, d-roc’s new favorite thing to yell all over the house lately lol)

so whats been going on….not a friggin thing! thanks to a random blizzard..

This is how far i sunk into the snow and my feet werent even touching the actual ground!!

sooo you would think with ALLLLL this snow and being trapped inside for FIVE days (!!!!!!!) that i would of sewn alot….but not really. lol i did get some things made thou before the wretched flu got to me…

i had some fabric my mother gave me, it was supposed to be an outfit for my sister when she was a baby…well shes 8 now so thats just not gonna happen haha so i got the fabric..and i made a little bag for her with it..

and i made another cosmetic bag

and i made a PILLOW!!!!!

(ISNT IT JUST ADORABLE?!?!)

and i also made a canvas tote bag for my friend to paint a picture on.. but i dont think the picture is done yet.

…oh and i forgot to show my AWSOME new sewing machines for my kick butt sewing room…

my grandma gave me these before it snowed and stuff!

ANNNNNDDDDDD i got a singer industrial sewing machine for making leather bags and doing my upholstery stuff

welp…thats all i got right now. hopefully il get over this wretched flu and start getting stuff together more!

I officially finished my newest bag, which i have up for sale

its $70.00 and has AMAZING hardware and leather straps!

so i found the coolest way to make my bags have my own custom brand labels!!

thats all i have for now, im soo exhausted from working on my chair all day today!

I hope i will have some kick butt bags to post soon! It might be awhile thou.. But my upholstery class is Tuesday, so Im hoping to have my chair done this week, its an all day class (8-5) so i think i can have it done in that much time.

As of 2:30 A.M. Sunday morning – I officially made my first bag! Thats right, i got the courage and finally did it!!

I gathered my supplies

I used this great tutorial by U-Handbag, Its awesome, u should try it! and its even cooler to say “i made my first bag without a even using a pattern” hehe

There are a few things i gotta work out next time, but completing it successfully has definitely given me the confidence to make more!

My first suggestion would be to use circle loops to attach your handle! these stinking D shaped loops are costantly turning and spinnging around and it drives me nuts! i have a start wars messenger bag that i bought a long time ago and it does the same thing to me – I CANT STAND IT! ugh! oh well, lesson learned.

The tutorial said to use bamboo bamboo handles, but i personally dislike those with a passion – they’re not my style..so i bought some chain ‘by the yard’ at hobby lobby, it was in-expensive and i was able to make unique over the shoulder straps for my bag instead of just handles

so i found this AWSOME tutorial to learn how!! – its super easy (WHICH I LOVE!)

Iv been able to put this great flower idea to work right away!!

My BEST-EST FRIEND (Ab-E) made the most amazing painting, and i was able to contribute this great flower for his hat.

Isnt She just an amazing artist?!?!

If all goes as planned, her work will be for sale in may!    – which im certain it is going to be a GREAT success!!

My great aunt suggested making a bigger version of my cosmetic bag, so i got out my measuring tape and made myself a big pattern..

The traditional cosmetic bag iv been making uses a 7 inch zipper…my newest creation uses a 14 inch zipper! Woah!

This was my time pattern making, and it was a success – although my fabric choice was NOT!!! ..well okay, it worked. but it was a giant pain in my butt to get to work right at times to say the least. and i was able to accent this giant beast with you guessed it – A FLOWER!!

Im trying to get my nerve and make an actual bag already!!! im just being a chicken right now. i just need to do it!!

iv spent two hours reading everything i can about interfacing…its really the one thing about making a bag that has intimidated me (and made me nervous to make one!) but now that i am a wealth of interfacing knowledge – I GOTTA DO IT! so that my friends will probably be my next adventure!! (which i will hopefully be able to share with you soon!)

well i’ve been quite the crafty lady lately.

It started with reupholstering my dining room chairs, which led me to make curtains. I’ve watched my grandma sew my whole life, and she was always teaching me how to do different things but for some reason once i was no longer at the age where i had barbies to make clothes for i lost interest in sewing UNTIL -  i successfully made curtains & i realized – hey that was alot of fun! i want to sew more stuff!! So after getting an amazing 1956 singer sewing maching from my grandmother, i was ACTUALLY sat down and sewed something like my grandma has been telling me to do for YEARS.

as a thank you I made my grandmother a lined cosmetic bag,

It was a total sucess!! & I was hooked! I made more for all the lady’s in my family that i love! my mother, my aunt, my mother in-law, and myself of course!

I made a green bag for my fellow Irish best friend

And i started getting Snazzy with it, adding an awesome decorative button

Now that i’ve got the cosmetic bag down, i’ve been constantly looking at more and more patterns and craft ideas hoping to expand and learn new techniques -  And i plan to share them with you here as i go!
